Most federal government organizations are experiencing at least some difficulty in reconciling the various methodologies and frameworks that have been introduced by central agencies and the consulting community in the past five to six years.

In this workshop you will be led through a practical step-by-step approach to linking the Program Activity Architecture (PAA)/Management, Resources and Results Structure (MRRS) and the Management Accountability Framework (MAF). You will be shown clearly how the PAA represents the accountability framework for program delivery while the MAF represents the accountability framework for management delivery.

You will also learn how to improve your organization’s management of two components of the business, the Sustaining Agenda – your ongoing operations – and the Change Agenda – your strategy for transforming your operations.

You will leave the workshop with practical tools and techniques for:

  • Linking the PAA and MAF in a truly integrated way;
  • Developing leading indicators for your PAA and MAF;
  • Costing your PAA;
  • Mapping your Sustaining and Change Agendas; and
  • Monitoring the impacts of your strategy.

The workshop will end with each participant having the capability to build a planning and reporting cycle that integrates: the PAA and MAF; strategic planning, business planning, and performance management agreements; ongoing commitments (Sustaining Agenda) and key commitments (Change Agenda); performance measurement and risk management; and the Report on Plans and Priorities (RPP) and Departmental Performance Report (DPR).
