Most federal government executives and managers recognize the importance of implementing results-based management policies and practices, but often lack the tools and road maps to effectively embed repeatable management activities that will improve program delivery and provide a stable management environment that effectively integrates and responds to external and internal management imperatives.
Join John Harrison for two days of intensive team-based interaction in which executives/managers and their intact teams will work together to build an environment that links strategic and business planning, performance measurement, risk and cost management and accountability principles. In this workshop, you will learn how to integrate these disciplines at the organization, program, project and individual levels in a way that is manageable and enables your team to respond to external planning, reporting and accountability requirements while meeting internal needs for sound management practices that drive better program/service delivery.
In this two day workshop, executives/managers and their teams will be led through a practical step-by-step approach that starts with results-based management language, methodologies, processes and templates.
They will then quickly move into the development of a "Management Reference Model" that documents and links all the various management architectures, models and maps required to plan, report and account at the organization, program, project and individual levels.
The "Management Reference Model" will then be enhanced through the development of the various management frameworks (performance measurement, risk management, planning and reporting - including costing, control, governance and accountability) that bring the reference model to life within a team-based environment.
The workshop will end with participants having the capability to effectively implement governance and accountability mechanisms (strategic and business plans, program and project plans, performance contracts and innovative horizontal and vertical program and team-based collaborative instruments) that balance the sustaining ("important" business as usual work) and change ("special" initiatives that must be implemented) agendas, innovation and risk and extract maximum value from limited resources.
