Overview:

This two-day workshop will demonstrate how Quality Management and Process Improvement can be integrated into your management practices through using the National Quality Institute's Model integrated with the TBS Management Accountability Framework (MAF).

The scope of the integrated NQI /MAF Quality Model covers the following aspects:

  1. Leadership and Governance;
  2. Strategic and Annual Planning;
  3. Integrated Risk Management;
  4. Accountability;
  5. Stewardship and Controls;
  6. People with Public Service Values in a Healthy Workplace;
  7. Partners and Stakeholders;
  8. Citizen/Client Focused Service;
  9. Policies, Programs and Processes;
  10. Results & Performance Monitoring & Reporting; and
  11. Learning, Innovation and Change Management.

The elements in bold are important to most departments and agencies, but are not explicitly included in the MAF.

The objectives of the Quality Management and Process Improvement workshop are:

  • To understand basic concepts and definitions related to Quality Management and Process Improvement
  • To understand the strategic directions for Quality Management in your organization
  • To identify the issues and challenges of implementing Quality Management and process improvements
  • To equip participants with the skills and information necessary to lead or participate in Quality Management improvement projects
  • To provide an opportunity to explore in greater detail the issues and ideas raised in the Workshop
